It’s been a while since I blogged. There are a number of reasons for this. It’s been a tough ol’ year, with Lauren working for free and all that, so I’ve been eating a lot of ramen and digestive biscuits. Equally, we haven’t really gone anywhere. We did go to France which I’ll write all about soon, but other than that I haven’t been on holiday properly since Sardinia in May 2016. So I felt like I didn’t really have anything to write about, which was sad.
But everything changed the other night when I had the new LIMITED EDITION KFC ‘Double Down’ burger, and I felt something deep down inside of me. It was probably partly the fact that I’d just eaten two deep fried chicken breasts covered in BBQ sauce and cheese (sorry, let me just get rid of that drool…), but there was something more. I needed to tell people about it.
And I realised, it didn’t matter if I hadn’t done anything fancy like flown Upper Class or eaten at the best restaurant in the world. I am a boring every day person, but so are most other people! Yes I’m calling you a boring every day person. And maybe, just maybe, it was worth writing about ordinary things anyway, because a) I enjoy it and it’s fun and b) then we can all share our mundane experiences and learn about new things and live slightly better each day.
So this is your obligatory ‘sorry I haven’t blogged in a while!’ post. I’m going to try and post more often about the smaller things I do and experience, rather than waiting for big fancy occasions. Hopefully there’ll be some big fancy occasions in there too, though.
